Van Cleef & Arpels has just released a new season of Lucky Spring, again inspired by the family’s naturalistic jewelry collection from the 1920s, which uses gem slices and the “gold beading technique” to create vivid patterns of ladybugs, plum blossoms and lilies of the valley to celebrate the spring garden.
Launched in 2021, Lucky Spring cleverly combines classic design elements from the collection of jewelry — Van Cleef & Arpels launched the first lily of the Valley theme brooch in 1927, and the first ladybug theme pendant in the 1930s. After 100 years of change, Lucky Spring has become a playful decoration for wearing.
The designers used natural gem slices to create lovely images of ladybugs and flowers — “ladybugs” inlaid with chalcedony and onyx, with gold beads transformed into spots on their wings; The “plum Blossom” is double-layered with romantic white mother-of-pearl petals; “Lily of the Valley” is also cut from mother-of-pearl, and the outer ring of the bracts is rimmed with handmade gold beads, which shine brightly after mirror polishing.
The new collection features four pieces of rose gold jewelry — the highlight is an interfinger ring with a ladybug at one end and gorgeous lily of the valley and plum at the other, capturing a vivid picture of a spring garden; The pendant is shaped into a ladybug flapping its wings, which is full of natural vitality.
