Two other AEW stars have reportedly pulled out of the company’s recent All Out pay-per-view event due to injuries. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer newsletter, Ruby Soho is in a relationship with Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and Tai Mei Tai Melo wrestled in a mixed doubles match and broke their nose during the match. Alex Reynolds reportedly teamed with “The Executioner” Adam Page and John Silver against Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks team for the AEW World Trios Championship – he was reportedly on crutches backstage, although Meltzer said the injury was not serious.
How long Soho and Reynolds will miss is not yet known. Reynolds did show up with his Dark Order stables on crutches at Dynamite on Wednesday, with Tony Schiavone saying the team is unable to play in the vacant Trio tournament due to injuries. Meltzer also noted that Christian Cage, who required surgery, was dealing with a torn chest muscle just before Sunday and could be out of action for up to eight months.
It was previously reported that CM Punk also suffered an injury during the game and will need a lot of time to recover. It’s unclear if this period may or may not coincide with reports of a suspension that occurred during an alleged brawl backstage at AEW All Out on Sunday night.
With injuries and suspensions on the rise, AEW kicked off several new storylines using Wednesday’s “Dynamite,” an episode that served as a refresher after Sunday’s chaotic backstage Wednesday.
