Piaget launched two high-end jewelry handmade pendant timepieces in 2023 by Watches&Wonders Geneva, inspired by the brand’s 1969 vintage necklace timepiece. The new work uses gold twisted rope technology to create a long chain, paired with classic oval dial, gemstone inlay and other designs, showcasing the clever integration of jewelry, fashion, and watches.
Piaget released the “21st Century” collection in 1969, inspired by high-end custom fashion and featuring avant-garde gold pendant timepieces. The long chain of the timepiece is infused with exquisite gold craftsmanship. Craftsmen mold and carve the gold, weaving it into a soft, silky texture that conforms to the skin lines of the neck.
The biggest highlight of the new work is the use of gold twisting rope technology to make long chains – craftsmen use a strand of gold wire to wrap around the shaft to form a coil, then manually twist it to form a chain link, and finally assemble it. The entire process took at least 130 hours to produce, paying tribute to Piaget’s exquisite gold craftsmanship.
The new work presents a total of 2 pendant timepieces, one of which uses malachite to create a Piaget’s iconic oval dial from the 1960s. It is complemented by a 25.38ct oval curved cut Zambian emerald, with emerald beads hanging from the tassels below the dial as a finishing touch, swaying naturally with the wearer’s movements.
Another highlight of the timepiece is the inclusion of Piaget’s “Palace Décor” gold carving decoration introduced in the 1960s in the oval dial, which complements the twisted rope gold chain on the outer ring of the dial. The round bright cut diamonds with a total weight of approximately 6.41ct are set to create a brilliant fire color.

Made of rose gold, the watch case has a diameter of 22.9×27.9mm, and the main stone is a 25.38ct oval curved cut emerald. It has been identified as produced in Zambia. Decorated with emerald beads, round cut emeralds and bright cut diamonds. The malachite dial is equipped with a PIAGET Count 356P homemade quartz movement.
