To celebrate the coronation of King Charles III of England, Fabergé has launched two new “Heritage” series egg pendants, cleverly hiding the important elements of the coronation ceremony, the “Imperial Crown” and the “Royal Gold Carriage”, as surprise eggs hidden in red enamel gold eggs.
These two new colored eggs are all made of gold. The jeweler first carved vine patterns on the “egg shell”, then coated it with fired red enamel to blend the “Guilloché” pattern with the enamel color. Finally, they were inlaid with round bright cut diamonds, creating a magnificent effect of sparkling fire color.
The surprise hidden in the colored egg pays special tribute to the history of the British royal family – “Heritage Coronation Crown” takes the “Imperial State Crown” dedicated to the coronation of the British king as the theme, the main body of the miniature gold crown is decorated with purple paint, the crown is outlined by gold beads, surrounded by decorative lilies and Holy Cross totems, and the center is inlaid with rubies and bright cut diamonds, Representing the famous Black Prince Ruby and the Cullinan II Diamond respectively.
The design of the “Heritage Gold State Coach” is inspired by the “British royal family golden coach” made in 1762. Since William IV, every British king will take this coach at the coronation ceremony – the designer uses gold to carve a miniature royal golden coach. The center is inlaid with diamonds to represent the window, and the base of the egg is made of translucent red chalcedony.
