On June 8th, Sotheby’s New York will auction 11 important jewelry collections from the Mellon Family in the United States. The most eye-catching items include 35ct Kashmir sapphire necklaces, 33.51ct Myanmar sapphire rings, and 12.35ct oil-free emerald rings.
Thomas Mellon, the first generation of Northern Ireland immigrants, founded T. Mellon&Sons Mellon Bank in 1870. Later, the family business gradually involved in finance, smelting, oil, mining, shipbuilding and other industries.
